Description

In book one - ALLIGATOR TALES FROM A LOUISIANA SWAMP - Etienne is a Parisian Alligator who leaves France on a ship bound for America to find his Cajun cousin Jacques who lives in the magical Mandalay Cypress Swamp in Houma, Louisiana.

The Mandalay Swamp is like nothing he had ever seen before. He encountered talking alligators, talking pelicans, a Hoodoo Conjure Woman who casts spells, and a beautiful, rare, pink alligator named Lizette who changed his life forever.

Etienne travels all over the Southern states and has many adventures, but none as great as meeting Spots - the white alligator.

This children's book is an action packed adventure that can be enjoyed by all ages.

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I was born in Texas but raised in Louisiana and have lived most of my adult life in Houma, Louisiana.

I entered college at the age of 32, having spent my 20s traveling around the country living the hippie lifestyle. It took me 12 years to finally complete my formal education and received a BA in Psychology, an MA in Psychological Counseling, and a PhD in Human Services.

For over 25 years I worked in the field of Mental Health as a Counselor/Therapist and Social Services Program Director. I burned out after the first 3.

For the last 7 years of my employment I ran my own Academic Tutoring Center out of my home, which I enjoyed a great deal. I retired in 2008 and married my business partner who passed away in 2010.

I have previously published 7 books but this is my first children's book. I spent many hours on the Internet trying to find information on the Leucistic Alligators that were found in the Mandalay Swamp here in Terrebonne Parish back in 1987. I have made one of them a main character in this latest book. These beautiful white alligators with blue eyes are rare and there are only 12 left in the world, all living in the United States.

This book has been a joy to write and I believe it will teach a valuable lesson to children who read it.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG

I have just completed my first children's book.  It is about alligators living in a magical cypress swamp in South Louisiana.

Much of the information concerning the Leucistic Alligators that is presented in the book was obtained from the Audubon Institute in New Orleans.  These beautiful white alligators, 18 in all, were discovered in 1987 in Terrebonne Parish, not far from where I live.  There are only 12 remaining Leucistic Alligators in the whole world.

I have learned a good bit of information on these alligators and hope that my Alligator Tales will give as much pleasure to the reader as I have had in writing the story.

Thanks for visiting.
